Ordering atmospheric traps:

ETS offers atmospheric testing kits for haloanisoles at no charge. To order the traps, log in to your ETS account, open your client dashboard, and click the "Get Supplies" button.

Coverage Area:

As a general guideline, use at least one trap per room or other defined space. One trap covers a maximum of 3,000 square feet.

Placing the Atmospheric Trap:

  1. On the site chosen for testing, place the aluminum pan on a flat surface.

  2. Sprinkle the included vial of absorbent material evenly into the pan.

  3. Close and save the vial.

The prepared trap should be left on site for 3 days. As much as possible, minimize air circulation in the area being tested.

(This is generally easier on weekends: install traps on Friday and remove them the following Monday).

Collecting the Trap for analysis:

  • After 3 days, carefully transfer the absorbent granules from the aluminum pan back into the glass vial.

  • Close the vial immediately and return to ETS for analysis.

Expected turnaround time for analysis is 3 to 4 working days from receipt of vials.
